Like / Dislike Display Issue
by Simon injust a heads up, since the last update the like / dislike votes sometimes don't display immediately due to caching.
they are all definitely counted though and will appear eventually, the issue is purely with the display part.
i'll look at fixing the cache so it's more immediate..

Jehovah's Limp Witnesses Pointed Me to JW.org When I Was Willing to Talk
by steve2 inseveral months ago i approached a nice young couple who were standing by a jw literature stand in my local community.
they were pleasant and polite but incredibly stilted when it came to answering my "innocent" questions about their beliefs.
this was the occasion of jws featuring the article headlined "is religion dying?".

The JW male then attempted to hand me a tract that appeared to be designed to direct me to JW.org. I declined saying "Why would you refer me to your website when I'm standing right in front of you talking?
Ha !....I love this ...so true !!

Scientology special on A&E tonight with Leah Remini
by nonjwspouse ini'm not sure where it is airing elsewhere, but on the a&e channel, at 7p then again at 10p est tonight, leah remini is doing a scientology special.

I don't know much about Leah Remini but based upon what I've seen and heard, the image I've projected onto her is one of favor. I only hope she doesn't turn up missing after all this....as bad as JW's are about ruining people's lives, I'd say the Scientologists are capable of some scary stuff.

This photo reminds me of the times when I was a teenager we used to drive into the nearby city early in the mornings to do street witnessing for a few hours before we met for regular Field Service. This major west coast U.S. "City" wasn't actually in our congregations territory so a bunch of JW guys who were from the "City" and who were a little older than us, came up and told us to "get outta' their territory". They were deadly serious....they said they were sick of all the JW's from the suburbs coming out and making it hard for them to place magazines.
I couldn't believe it ! They were missing the whole point about reaching as many people as possible before "the end". It didn't matter who placed the magazines so long as the word got out....it wasn't as if we were getting commi$$ion !
From this photo, it looks as if the first group doesn't even know the other group exists and neither group would be motivated enough to move to another location .

Jehovah God is Real
by TakeOffTheCrown inthere are many on this site that do not believe that jehovah truly exists; that he is not a real being.
but, he is as real as next breath you draw into your nostrils.. some of you say that there is no evidence that he exists.
yet, none of you can prove that he does not exits.. cofty, (you come to mind), i appreciate that you have stated, without reservation, that you do not believe that god exists.. yet, you cannot prove it.. hope in jehovah..

I find it difficult to believe that any one of you were once a part of the Christian Congregation.
God hears your prayers as well as what you write on the internet. Think before you write.
It's not so difficult to understand when you realize that like you, many of us began searching the internet when we realized that we weren't getting real answers at the Kingdom Hall. Some of us (me) had children or parents who died because of the blood issue. Some have lost all of their friends and family simply because they stopped going to the meetings. Others were unfairly disfellowshipped or were told to put our lives on hold and wait for a world ending event that never arrived. Like you however, we took heed of the Bible's admonition to keep testing our faith. Like you, we disobeyed the orders of those claiming to be commissioned by Jehovah to lead his people and we began communicating with other seekers. Like you, we saw that there are real answers and real evidence to be had and people who are willing to share what they've learned. That's why like you, even though it was frightening to be learning that our faith was based on untruths, we keep visiting this site, even though we were sternly warned not to do so.
Continue to convince yourself that ignoring your leaders orders not to visit websites like this, is ok. Continue rationalizing to yourself that you are the one exception to their rule about this and stick around here to see what you can learn. Remember though, as you said, Jehovah (if he exists) sees that you are visiting this site and he sees you disobeying the orders you were given, not to do so.
If you do keep visiting this site and if you must dispense advice and warnings to us, try to use your own thoughts and ideas rather than parrot what you've read in the latest Watchtower. We can smell Watchtower speak, a mile away. Remember that most of us (unlike yourself) are not Jehovah's Witnesses. Remember that in the eyes of the organization you are worse than us because you are pretending to be a true believer and someone who obeys the Governing Body. Unless you can openly admit to your congregation that you are engaging in discussions on sites like this, it could be said that, you in a sense, are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Just around the corner." The dumbest song that I have ever heard..
by DATA-DOG ini'm at my quasi-thanksgiving dinner with relatives.
i hear a haunting sound from another room.
"is that a children's song?

Are they trying to wake people up??? It seems to me that rather than it being an abstract notion, this video forces the JW viewer to visualize their beliefs about paradise and in doing so, forces them to realize how far fetched it all seems. Not to mention the old folks who've heard "just around the corner" since they were babies and are now facing the reality that never dying could very well be a false hope.

You know it's time to give up the JW religion when your route call tells you to
by jambon1 inlasting memory of the latter period of time in the organisation:.
i had a route call with the magazines whom i'd called on for a number of years.
eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.
-
Pete Zahut
That elderly woman recognized this from the beginning and probably continued taking the magazines out of pity for you and your situation.
I came to the conclusion after a lifetime of being a JW. that going to the meetings was like going to a funeral 3 times a week. Even the decor of the Kingdom Hall was funeral parloresque. Constant reminders of imperfection, death, sin, Armageddon, pointing out the bad in the world coupled with their feeble Biblical reasonings....it eventually became too much.

Wills - A disgruntled father making a final point
by Listener inan unusual and amusing will was contested in an australian court a few years ago.the deceased man separated from his wife in 1959 and shortly after the wife was baptized as a jw.
in the following years their four children also got baptized.
apparently this enraged the deceased for the remainder of his life, who was himself a catholic.his will included two conditions that his four children were required to fulfill before they would qualify to receive their share of the inheritance.
-
Pete Zahut
Who needs an inheritance anyway?? At least the 4 kids will be able to relate their experience on stage at the next District Convention....they'll be local JW heroes. (for a few minutes)

"It is clear how you feel. All of your questions could be answered if you put Jehovah to the test, but I cant convince you, you have to allow it, we will talk soon."
Tell her it's not about you (Herelgo) putting Jehovah to the test. Rather it's about you (Herelgo) having tested your own faith as the bible instructs us to do and about how you found that your faith and your beliefs were based on false information and or the lack of information. Thus far, no one, including herself (your own Mother and faithful follower), has been able to answer those basic questions, yet she is willing to shun her own son and her own grandchildren based on a religion she doesn't fully understand.

Official Increase in the Number of Jehovah's Witnesses You Shouldn't Trust
by David_Jay inreports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.
this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.
what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.
-
Pete Zahut
Eventually (if they haven't already) will say that the number (144,000) isn't a literal number so it doesn't matter how many have partaken over the years.
